If you could build a new university from a blank slate, how would you do it?
If we throw out assumptions about curriculum, about faculty and student roles, and about the relationship between the institution and the community, what might we build together? If what we care about is developing students as whole people, kindling their curiosity, and preparing them to lead in an uncertain world, what kind of experience might we create? What is the role of research in a university that is dedicated to serving a society confronting daunting grand challenges? How can our experience point the way toward new strategies for creating dynamic higher education institutions in resource constrained developing country’s? These are some of the fundamental questions TUIV and our partners at Fulbright University Vietnam are asking.
On our blog, Ab Initio, we’ll be sharing our experiences as we move ahead. Want to chime in? We’d love to hear from you!
